Filming Day

Later today we meet up at 5 P.M. At Solorzano's pizza to film. I am going to take some pictures of the process and post them in a couple of days post filming 3/2

Filming went great, we got permission to film at the pizza place, and it was absolutely perfect. We got out shots done at both locations, weather permitted and there was no rain, and there wasn't to many problems. The main problem we ran into was the fact that we kept laughing when we were trying to film, at the pizza place we were there for over two hours. It was so hard to keep our composure at the start, I guess we were just having too much fun when filming, which is a good thing. For some scenes when for example I was not in the shot I would have to get up and leave because one of our actors Joey could not stop laughing when looking at me. But we ended up getting it done and I think once editing is over and all of that good stuff it will turn out very good, I also think the step up with our camera is going to play a big role, even though it was Ethan's first time using it, our supplier Cyrus was able to teach him the basics like starting recording and ending it, and changing things like resolution to make the screen brighter so we could see and turning on the light on the camera. Overall, it all went excellent.

Our friend Cyrus who brought the camera showed up without an SD card and that was not a good start because every passing minute it began to get darker outside which would have hindered our ability to have good graphics but he hurried on over to an office store to get one so that his camera did not run out of storage, then he taught Ethan the basics and we were able to start recording. We improvised some things that were not on the storyboard, we added dirty plates from pizza we had previously eaten, and we added cash on the table and cups to show that it was not just a meet up spot but also a place where we actually were eating, because we are real people and need food, which is weird because rarely in movies do you ever see people eat which I think should be incorporated in longer movies. I also forgot the body that I was supposed to bring which was just a big pillow inside a trash bag so we had to improvise and Ethan hurried home and grabbed the biggest pillow he had which was not as big as we needed and his trash bags were small and we had to use that which is my fault but I think it still looks like a dead body.

One thing I should have done differently when I was working on the storyboard was scout out the filming locations so I had a better idea of what I was drawing when working on it, because the layout of the restaurant was a lot different than I had expected, so we had to change that up a little bit. But the restaurant had very good background for our movies, there were tons of pictures on the wall that covered past people that has been there and they were all Italian and they had pizza stuff all over the walls it was so cool and matched out movie so well.

Anyways, tomorrow I will post a lot of pictures that me, Ethan, and Lucas took while filming that covers the mise en scene, what we were wearing, props and other important factors to the movie.
